web previewDamn, how long has it been?  Was June 20th really my last post?  So it's almost three months.  A bunch has happened, I'm lazy and have been spending a lot more time with my family, which is great.

We spent a week down at Emerald Isle, NC which was a nice way to decompress, I even managed to stay away from my laptop.

I'm back.  Getting ready to release a new version of our product this weekend and then settling down for a much needed maintenance session.  We're going to migrate everything to ASP.NET 2.0 and SQL Server 2005.  It's currently split into a customer facing mostly reporting piece and an in house administration piece, so we could reasonably separate the two into two different applications and only migrate the customer facing side (the administration side doesn't get much use and as it's in house it's a lower priority).  I don't see anything particularly complicated in upgrading from SQL Server 2000 to 2005, I'm actually looking forward to it as I've used CASE to build PIVOT tables way too many times in the past twelve weeks.

I'm posting this using Windows Live Writer, I've not even had a chance to play with some of the cooler plugins I've seen, but this is a sweet little tool.

That image on the right is "web preview" which shows you the post as it's going to look in your blog, pretty cool.

Setting this up was a breeze too, I needed to know the URL of my blog, username and password, and that was it.

So, for the five readers I used to have, and the two that keep checking back to see if my blog is every going to be back online, I'm back, for better or (more than likely) worse.
