I mentioned that Thycotic was giving a user
group presentation
on July 6, 2005 for WinProTeam Vienna.
That information
has existed for a while that the Mid-Atlantic .net User group
Portal. I've also added it to CodeZone. All that's left
for me to do is send out a newsletter (read: meeting announcement with
other stuff) next week, the Monday before and the day of.
Is there anything else I can do to increase awareness? (Admittedly this
is a rhetorical question given my readership, but maybe I'll answer myself to
make me feel better). Sure, send it to my DE to get into MSDN
Flash.
Are people even looking for usergroups? We've got our core team of
loyalist attendees, admittedly that will drop somewhat during the summer,
especially with this meeting being close to the 4th, but we couldn't help that
much.
If you've ever thought you might want to go to a, even if just to snarf the
free pizza, why didn't you? Or what stopped you? Or what is
currently preventing you from coming? Vienna, VA is in a fairly good place
if you're working in Tyson's Corner, or even Reston (which meant you didn't ride
METRO to work) but it's fairly inconvenient if you're trying to use METRO (we're
talking two miles probably to the closest stations -- Dunn Loring and West Falls
Church).
