The ThinkPad X41 is the newest object of my tablet lust. I can't say I'm happy I don't have a tablet, that would invalidate all the complaining I've done for the last, uh, 15 months or so. I am glad I waited on the Tecra M4, I was going to try to grab one right before TechEd (I must say, I've seen a lot of tablets and by far the Toshiba Portege M20x is the most popular -- In the most unofficial, on the spot, survey based completely on what I happen to pick up on). So why am I glad I waited? Seems there are some problems with it, Eric Mack has been posting his experiences (poor speaker design, dust in the LCD on delivery, speed issues which lead to noise and heat issues and obviously reduced battery life).
The X41, 1.14" thick, 3.5lbs with a 4-cell battery, supports 1.5GB of memory, more than 6 hours of battery life and a resolution of 1400x1050... Off to that hands on lab now, I've got to play with it.
